Hey so I haven't posted in a long time but here is a little update about what was going on lately.
Okay so first of all I skyped with my host family and they are all so super nice! I got to see my host mom, all my host brothers ( I have 3 ) and also my host grandma :) I was so nervous at first but that feeling was gone very fast. They also showed me the dog and the cat they own (which are both very cute! )

So the next thing that happened is that I finished editing my second video which I'll link down below:

and the third thing that happend is that I finally finished designing my exchange student book.
I also made a DIY video about it and I'll upload that when I'm ready with editing

So that's it for today and I hope that I'll see you soon.

YouTube

As you can already tell by the title this post is again going to be about YouTube.
So I showed the finished video to my mother and a few days afterwards I asked her if she liked it and if I was allowed to upload it and to my surprise she said YES!
So far so good.
Well then I still had to convince my father and yesterday I showed him the video and he also said YES! I guess I was the happiest person on earth when I finally realized that I was now able to upload it. So today when I got home from school I edited the video a little bit more until I was completly happy with it and than I uploaded the video to YouTube.
It took like 1 1/2 hours! The thumbnails weren't really the best so I googled how I could edit that since you can't choose one if you aren't a YouTube partner.
I found a video that told me what I could do and the thing I had to do to solve that problem was to edit my video (just take the picture you want to have as thumbnail and put it to the end of your video)
I now had to upload it again and it took ages! It completly worked and I had the thumbnail I wanted to have. The last thing I had to do was to edit the video with the YouTube Video Editor BUT when I was ready the thumbnails were the same I had in the video I uploaded before. Well I had to pick "the best" with which I'm obviously not really happy :D

So here is the video ( sorry but it's in german )

I JUST GOT MY HOST FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'M SO EXCITED AND THAT'S WHY I'M WRITTING THIS WITH HUGE LETTERS!!!!!!

Okay so yesterday I was playing tennis with my father and my sister and when I came home I looked into the mailbox and there was this huge letter in it. I ran up the stairs to get the key and then I ran down the stairs as fast as I could ( I actually think that if someone had stopped the time I would have broken some records ) So afterwards I ran the stairs up again and I was out of breath but still full of excitement.
BUT: my mom wasn't home so I wasn't able to open the letter since she asked me (a few weeks ago) if I could wait with openening the letter until she arrives
So I sat in front of the letter and I again had to wait! :D My mom arrived like 45 minutes later.
45 MINUTES! These 45 minutes really felt like 45 hours to be honest and when she finally came through the door I was like "COME HERE HURRY PLEASE! PUT DOWN YOUR BAG! AND JUST SIT DOWN! THE PLACEMENT LETTER JUST CAME!!!!" So we all sat in the living room and I finally was able to open it.  My cheeks were very red because I was so excited.

And to answer the question most of you were wondering about: I'm going to spend my exchange year in WISCONSIN with a very friendly looking familiy :)
I can't tell to much about them since I don't know if it is okay for them so you guys will have to wait.

So that's it for now and I hope that I will see you soon.

Okay so I'm probably going to get crazy! I'm just very bad at waiting but that's exactly what you have to do when you are going to make an exchange year! I mean it's just a very weird thought that there could be an american family thousands and thousands miles away from me that already knows that I'm going to be with them for 10 months while I'm sitting here in my room blogging about how I can't wait to get to know them. To be honest there is nothing else I can think about! If you are also an exchange student you know what I mean! You get excited when the phone rings, you get excited when you get a new e-mail and you also get excited about all the letters in the mail. But no there again was nothing from your host family! There are still like 7 months left and that means 7 WHOLE MONTHS OF WAITING, WAITING AND MORE WAITING.

So that's it and I really hope to see you soon.

Hey to the person who is currently reading this. Are you enjoying my blog so far?
Well this post is about making YouTube videos. So a few weeks ago I started to think about making YouTube videos about my exchange year to help students that are in my situation or that will be in my situation. One of my biggest Christmas wishes this year was a tripod since I already have a camera and I was so happy when I got it. So one day I was home alone and I thought why not try to make a video. 20 minutes later I finished filming and I started to edit it ( after I waited like 40 minutes for the editing programm to download ). It was ready and everything and I was kinda proud because I think it's not that bad actually. Well the thing I forgot to do was to ask my parents if I'm even alowed to post a video on YouTube...I guess you already know the answer.
Yeah so this is the story about how it took me roughly 5 hours to make a YouTube video that is never going to be seen by anybody other than me. ( of course I'm still trying to convince them to let me publish it but chances are around 1% that that will ever happen)
So that's it and I hope I'll see you soon.

Happy new year!!!! Sorry I know this is a bit late but I had no internet for the last 3 days.
But whatever I hope you had an amazing start into the new year and that everything keeps getting better. I just realized that I wont be able to spend the next New Year's Eve with my friends from Germany...unless I buy those 1000$ plane tickets. Don't get me wrong I'm already full of excitement to spend the next one with my new family but I'm also sure that I will miss my friends & my family a lot.

But I read something a while ago to think about:

You build up your own life for 15 years and leave it for one. But in this one year you build another one but afterwards you have to leave it for ever. So which one do you think is harder?

So that's it for today but I hope that I will see you soon.

Since I started this blog ( which was yesterday ) I  thought incredibly much about how the whole year is going to be. I kinda worry that I will not fit into the family or that maybe I wont find friends.
I'm so nervous...but a good nervous...because I dont know where I'll spend the year. It is possible that I come to Hawaii, Washington, Texas, Florida...EVERYWHERE! The first thing I do every day when I come home is turn on my laptop to see if I have any new mails. The mail that tells me where my new home will be could come any second, the thing is it could also come like 2 days before I'm leaving Germany. I'm already so excited!!!

So that's it for today. I hope I'll see you soon.
